The Circuit Top 25 Poll - revisited 6/20/2021
Let me start by saying I hate Polls. Especially polls that are not statistically based. I don't know for sure if The Circuit top 25 poll is opinion or statistically based, but my guess is that it is put together by experts, and while experts know a lot about the teams they rate, there are a lot of teams that they overlook.
So, I am not trying to dish The Circuit poll. I am not trying to dish the teams that are in the top 25 that I don't think belong there. What I would hope to do is raise awareness of the teams that are NOT on the top 25 list that really BELONG there.
You might ask, "What the hell does Gramps know about these teams?" Well, I have analyzed close to 2000 of those teams and all of the top Circuit teams with my "Sagarin" style algorithm. I used the same algorithm for every Missouri boys and girls high school team this past winter and predicted 80% of the winners from districts to regionals to the state championships. 80%! and a lot of the spreads were dead on too. When you get Gramps rating, the difference between two opponents' ratings is the spread.
I am getting locked in on The Circuit teams too. So what I hope to do is get some experts to pay attention to teams that belong in the top 25 that have not been considered.
In the top right column, I have posted the top 25 listed on The Circuit. Next to each team's record, I have listed my rating. The top ten is pretty darn close, but the bottom 15 are great teams but there are better teams out there that BELONG.
I re-sorted the teams by my rating in the table directly below the Circuit poll and the teams highlighted in yellow, while very good, are not in my top 25. In the table next to the Circuit poll, I have listed the top 100 teams in my rating system. You can find my ratings for all the Circuit Leagues HERE along with ratings for every state.
In my table, I have boldened the teams that are not in the Circuit top 25. These are teams that need consideration.
Consider these teams for top 25 consideration.....
Team Arsenal, Team Build Up, Minnesota Fury Narum, Florida PRO, MOKAN Elite, Team CP3, Y&R/KL Power 5, Focus Premier, High Major, City Rocks, Team CP25 National, Wisconsin Playground Elite, Team Buddy Buckets, Arkansas Hawks and Southeast Florida.
Take a look. These teams will make some noise in July. I know I have 80% of them right. LOL
