Gramps Braggin Rights Grassroots 17U boys basketball ratings - The Circuit League Ratings - June 17, 2021

Here are my latest Gramps Braggin Rights Grassroots 17U boys basketball ratings for The Circuit Leagues.  I have also included a state's ratings and the top independent teams with some comments on the best teams.

My focus has been on The Circuit teams and I am gradually picking up teams in each state as I rate them vs. the top teams.  It's a real chore to fill these ratings in.  I probably spend close to four hours a day, catching up on new scores for the ratings algorithms.  Having foot surgery in March and a pacemaker in  early June set me back a little but it also gives me an excuse to sit more (doctors and the bosses orders) and catch up.

You can find your individual state in the links below:

Alaska to California

Canada to Florida

Georgia to Idaho

Illinois to Massachusetts

Maryland to Missouri

Mississippi to New Mexico

Nevada to South Dakota

Tennessee to Texas

Utah to Wyoming

What can you say but Nike EYBL has the best 17U teams in the country.  There are some excellent teams in the other leagues, but top to bottom, Nike EYBL is solid.  Almost any team in that Circuit could beat any other team in their league.  Under Armor is just a step behind but EYBL rocks.

But who are the best teams?  Drop down and look at the best in every league.  Eye Candy.  Hot Stove League talk.  Braggin Rights.  July tournaments will settle the dispute.

Thanks for reading.

Here's a look at the top teams in each League based upon head-to-head competition and comparative ratings.  The difference in rating would be the spread for two teams.  I have included records as listed in the Season Ticket.com:

The Nike EYBL division is stacked with talent.  While Team Final (18-1) has the top rating, Meanstreets (24-3), Phenom U (19-1), Brad Beal (17-3), Team Durant (15-3), and Oakland Soldiers (6-0), all look to challenge.  CP3 (10-5) and Mokan Elite (6-5) might still make some noise.

In the Adidas Three Stripe and Under Armor leagues, the top teams include Team Loaded (VA) at 23-3, Team Charlotte (21-2) and Dream Vision (11-2).  K-Low Elite, Southeast Elite (21-6), Team Florida (19-6), Team Trae Young (18-6), Team Thrill (7-6) and KC Run GMC (9-8) might take a run at the leaders.  A couple of them could compete with the top 10 Nike EYBL teams.

The talent falls off a little from the top three leagues to Hoop Group, Hoop Seen and NY2LA but there are still some great teams.  Team Spartans (15-6), Florida Pro (17-1), Atlanta All-Stars (12-3), 3D Empire (22-6), Gain Elite and Midwest Basketball (20-6) could all give the top Nike Teams a good game.

Over at PrepHoops, there are several very good teams that could compete with the EYBL league.  The best of the PH teams would be Team Build Up, MPJ Elite and Indiana Game Premier.  Top Achievers Elite, Oklahoma Chaos, Team Teague, and Old Gold are just a step behind.
Howard Pulley is the class of the Recruit Look league with Grassroots Sizzle Weston and MN Lightning Ellerbach very close behind.  Middlesex Magic leads the Zero Gravity Circuit and Auburn Raptors has a slight edge in the PH Passion league.
Under Armor Rise Circuit has outstanding teams in Virginia Elite, D1 Indiana, Breakaway BB, Illinois Stars and Virginia Havoc but I like some of the "Independents" that are not tied to one Circuit.

Minnesota Fury Narum, Young & Restless/KL Power 5, Focus Premier, High Major, Team CP25 National, Wisconsin Playground Elite, Team Buddy Buckets, Arkansas Hawks, amongst others, could all compete with the big boys in the EYBL circuit.  Look for good things from these teams in July.

How about the States?  Which state has the best 17U buckets right now?  California leads the list with a surprising Minnesota, both Carolinas and Arizona rounding out the top five.  But I have a lot of teams missing in my state polls so keep an eye out for your state as I fill in the blanks.
