Gramp's Braggin' Rights Final 17U Grassroots Boys Basketball ratings - Top 500
Here are my final Grassroots 17U boys basketball ratings for the 2021 Summer Session. I have spent a lot of time on the top 100, based upon the count on the right-hand side. Ratings are based upon head-to-head and comparative scores, so the difference between the two teams is the rating difference. In some cases, I have weighted game scores and in others, I have ignored blow-out games.
You can figure out your own rating by adding or subtracting the score differential for each opponent you played, ie. if you beat Bradley Beal by three you would add their rating of 148 plus three for a 151 game rating.
I am damn sure of my top 50 but it gets a little sketchy when I only have one or two or a handful of games for any particular team. but then again, you won't find nearly two thousand teams rated anywhere else. So, while it ain't perfect, it's better than an opinion poll, in my mind.
What impresses me most is how many great teams there are in the US of A today. I mean, you take a team with a 130 rating, and they could hang with Brad Beal for a while. There are 300 plus teams with a 130 or better rating. Basketball was wild this summer.
